On behalf of one of our clients, we are pleased to announce an exciting career opportunity for the role of JOURNALIST. We are looking for a passionate and talented Journalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong storytelling and research skills and the ability to bring our clients Magazine to life with powerful narratives, interviews, and features on women globally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Storytelling & Writing
- Research, write, and edit engaging stories, profiles, and articles featuring women entrepreneurs, leaders, and change-makers.
- Conduct in-depth interviews with clients members, awardees, and partners.
- Produce feature stories, opinion pieces, and investigative articles aligned with the clients vision.
- Ensure all content is high-quality, original, and inspiring, with a global perspective.
Magazine Development
- Work closely with the editorial team to plan and execute magazine editions (print and digital).
- Pitch new ideas, angles, and storylines that highlight the impact of women in business and leadership.
- Collaborate with graphic designers and content teams to ensure stories are visually appealing and reader-friendly.
- Meet strict deadlines for publication schedules.
Research & Content Creation
- Conduct market and sector research to identify trends affecting women entrepreneurs.
- Verify facts, quotes, and data to ensure accuracy and credibility.
- Write compelling headlines, captions, and supporting text for features.
- Adapt long-form content into shorter articles, blog posts, and social media stories.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree/Diploma in Journalism, Media, Communications, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in journalism, editorial writing, or magazine publishing.
- Proven track record of storytelling, interviewing, and feature writing.
- Strong research and fact-checking skills.
- Experience working with women empowerment, NGOs, or business magazines is a plus.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Ability to craft stories that are both inspiring and informative.
- Strong interviewing skills with a natural curiosity for people’s journeys.
- Creative mindset with the ability to bring fresh perspectives.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines consistently.
