About the role:
Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Loan Officer for Salaried Loans, to lead their
salaried loans business. The candidate will be responsible for driving the growth of their salaried loans portfolio, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining strong relationships with government agencies and other stakeholders. The Loan Officer will be responsible for marketing salaried loans to civil servants, disbursing loans, reconciling loan repayments, and ensuring timely collection of due amounts.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing and Business Development
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote salaried loans to civil servants, for UPAWUZ including identifying new business opportunities and building relationships with the UPAWUZ union.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government ministries, departments, and agencies.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships with government agencies and other organizations.
Loan Disbursal
- Manage the disbursal of salaried loans to civil servants, ensuring that loans are disbursed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all loan documentation is complete and accurate, and that loans are disbursed in a timely manner.
Reconciliations and Collections
- Reconcile loan repayments on a monthly basis, ensuring that all payments are accurately accounted for and that any discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Ensure that due amounts are collected on a monthly basis, and that any overdue amounts are followed up promptly.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve loan repayment rates and reduce arrears.
Risk Management
- Ensure that all lending activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, and that risk is managed effectively.
- Monitor loan performance and identify potential risks, taking corrective action as necessary.
Reporting and Administration
- Prepare regular reports on salaried loans, including portfolio performance, loan disbursals, and collections.
- Ensure that all loan documentation is properly maintained and that records are up-to-date.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a financial institution.
- Proven track record of success in marketing and selling financial products to civil servants.
- Strong understanding of lending policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
