Good Neighbors Zambia, an organization dedicated to eradicating hunger and promoting harmony, is hiring for various roles to support its initiatives in the Chongwe region. Below is a summary of the positions:
1. Agriculture Managing Officer (1 Position)
- Purpose: Develop and implement Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) strategies, oversee agricultural programs, train farmers on CSA practices, and analyze impacts on yields, income, and sustainability.
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, Agronomy, or related field (Master’s preferred); 3–5 years in agricultural project management; knowledge of maize farming and sustainable practices.
- Skills: Leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and program design.
2. Infrastructure Officer (1 Position)
- Purpose: Oversee construction of irrigation, canal, and storage facilities, manage infrastructure projects, train farmers on solar irrigation maintenance, and ensure quality control.
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Agricultural, or Irrigation Engineering, or Renewable Energy (Master’s preferred); 3 years in infrastructure development; technical knowledge of pumps, pipelines, and electrical systems.
- Skills: Reporting, community coordination, and cross-cultural team management.
3. Co-Op & Social Enterprise Coordinator (1 Position)
- Purpose: Lead establishment of agricultural cooperatives, develop social enterprises, mobilize funding, train members in management, and promote market linkages.
- Qualifications: Diploma in Cooperative Development, Agricultural Economics, or related field; 3 years in cooperative or rural business development; experience with NGOs in agribusiness.
- Skills: Governance, financial management, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation.
4. Finance & Accounting Officer (1 Position)
- Purpose: Manage project finances, budgeting, and reporting, ensure donor compliance, oversee procurement, and mitigate financial risks.
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Finance/Accounting, ACCA Part II, or ZICA Licentiate; 2–3 years in financial management (preferably in NGOs); valid ZICA membership.
- Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel, knowledge of donor regulations, and ability to work under pressure.
5. Field Facilitator (2 Positions)
- Purpose: Act as a liaison between the project team and communities, facilitate trainings, monitor field activities, and ensure cultural sensitivity and gender inclusiveness.
- Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor’s in Agriculture, Community Development, or related field; 2 years in community engagement or agricultural extension; preference for candidates from Chongwe.
- Skills: Training, data collection, reporting, and relationship-building with communities.
6. Driver (1 Position)
- Purpose: Safely transport staff and materials, maintain vehicles, monitor fuel usage, and assist in emergencies.
- Qualifications: Grade 12 certificate; valid manual driving license; 5 years of professional driving experience (preferably with NGOs).
- Skills: Reliability, basic vehicle maintenance, and flexibility for rural and extended hours.
Minimum Grade 12 certificate or equivalent. Valid Manual Driving License. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a professional driver, preferably in an international development or NGO setting. Familiarity with driving in rural and urban areas, ensuring safe transport across various terrains and conditions. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Strong reliability, punctuality, and commitment to safety. Flexibility and willingness to work in different conditions, including extended hours and weekend shifts if required.
