We are a growing transport company operating a fleet of buses in Zambia. We are now shifting to a scheduled, time-based bus model and are looking for a results-driven Operations Manager to lead this transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the rollout of a time-based bus operation model across selected routes.
  • Recruit, train, and manage staff including drivers, conductors, ticket agents, and supervisors.
  • Develop and oversee daily operations, schedules, and route management.
  • Set up and monitor ticketing, cash handling, and revenue reporting systems.
  • Track fleet performance, maintenance schedules, and fuel efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and customer service standards.
  • Report on key performance indicators and contribute to growth strategy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transport, logistics, operations, or a similar field.
  • Experience managing teams and coordinating field staff.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with fleet management, scheduling, and revenue tracking.
  • Ability to lead change and implement systems from the ground up.
  • Diploma or degree in Business, Logistics, Transport Management, or related field is an advantage.
