Huachen International Supply Chain Limited seeks to employ an Operations Supervisor in the Operations Department to join our growing team.

POSITION

Operations Supervisor (X1)

JOB PURPOSE

To oversee and manage day-to-day operations within the department, ensuring that processes run smoothly and efficiently. To supervise staff, coordinate workflows, and optimize productivity while maintaining high-quality standards.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Convoy Assignment & Pairing: Assign and pair convoys for sensitive loads and ensure compliance with all safety protocols by drivers.
  • Control Room Operations: Maintain and update the control room shift schedule, ensuring that the control room operates 24/7 without interruption.
  • Policy Enforcement: Enforce company policies regarding night driving and overspeeding, ensuring all drivers comply with established regulations.
  • Reporting: Send out daily and weekly reports on mileage covered, adherence to schedules, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Incident Reporting: Relay breakdowns, incidents, and accidents to the responsible parties for timely resolution and follow-up.
  • Truck Parking & Compliance: Ensure that trucks park within the standard authorized time and that all operations align with regulatory requirements.
  • 24/7 Availability: Oversee the 24/7 tracking unit, ensuring all operations run smoothly, including during nights and weekends. Night allowances are applicable as per company policies.
  • KPI Management: Track and update Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), pushing for quick recovery times and efficient operational processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Logistics & Transport/Purchasing & Supply or related field.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in an Operations department for a transport and logistics company.
  • Must be resident in Ndola, Kitwe or the Copperbelt.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within logistics, transportation, or a similar industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficient in managing control room operations and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations, especially during incidents or accidents.
  • Knowledge of fleet management and tracking systems.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining operational efficiency.

NOTE.

All interviews shall be conducted physically at our Sakania Office in Ndola.
