Parts Sales & Support Representative (PSSR) – Zambia

Sandvik Mining and Construction Zambia is a Sales Unit based in Kitwe, within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, a Business Area, a leading supplier of equipment and tools, service and support for the mining industry. We also provide solutions and knowledge in a wide range of applications such as rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunnelling and quarrying.

Job Description Summary

To apply and use knowledge of sales process and tools to support front line sales representatives in promoting and selling the organization’s products and services within assigned geographic area, product range or list of customer accounts to achieve significant sales targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Customer & Market Understanding

  • Perform gap analysis, forecasting, market analysis, market share by customer site and competitor activity for your customer base
  • Understand the customers business, equipment, and fleet requirements
  • Stays current with industry developments, competitive offerings and issues affecting sales and customers
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the local sales market and competitor footprint
  • Predictive parts forecasting through analyzing customer maintenance strategy and planning to ensure parts availability meets customer demand and expectation.
  • Engage with customers on new Sandvik developments on products and services that pertain to their existing active fleet to aid their planning for future ordering of products 3 of 6 Sales Growth & Development
  • Identify new business opportunities for aftermarket offerings among current and prospective customers and develop clear strategies to convert them
  • Work closely with Portfolio and Category Managers to compile adequate, competitive, and on-time customer proposals
  • Make regular contact with current customers and maintain ongoing business relationships while establishing new customers
  • Developing the sales pipeline, identifying, and following up on new opportunities to include in the sales plan
  • Monitor parts usage patterns and liaise with Inventory Controllers to ensure appropriate stock levels and stocked items are obtained
  • Provide the Sales Manager with monthly status reports on business activity of your customer accounts • Liaises between customer and Sandvik on aftermarket issues to ensure all issues are settled in timely manner
  • Provide feedback to Account Managers on Sales Plan actions that may grow the parts & services business and provide closer customer support.
  • .  Provide feedback to key stakeholders and the Customer to enable improvements to be made in a continual improvement approach to the Customer Financial

Experience

  • 3 years customer facing sales experience in a technical or industrial field
  • Practical experience in the mining, construction, or heavy equipment field
  • An understanding of the mining industry and mining practices
  • Knowledge of sales cycle & process.
  • valid driver license for more than 2 years with a manual vehicle is a requirement for the job?

You are a proactive leader with experience in sales have a strong team building and project management skills, excellent communication for customer interaction, a solid understanding of safety compliance, and expertise in parts planning, budgeting, and continuous improvement.

The role requires flexibility in working hours, independence, and time management skills. Compliance with Health and Safety standards is crucial, and the ability to produce professional technical reports is expected.
