We are seeking to recruit skilled and dedicated professionals to join our team in the following positions:

1.POWER ELECTRICIAN × 5

The ideal candidates will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across the plant to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance

  • Perform routine maintenance on motors, switchgear, transformers, MCC panels, VFDs and generators.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical circuits, control panels and automation systems to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor and maintain electrical systems in critical areas such as boilers, turbines, centrifugal machines, conveyors and production lines.
  • Support smooth operation of high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical equipment.

Installation & Upgrades

  • Assist in the installation, wiring, commissioning, and testing of new electrical equipment.
  • Ensure proper earthing, protection and compliance with electrical standards.
  • Support implementation of electrical upgrades and energy-efficient solutions.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

  • Execute preventive maintenance schedules to reduce breakdowns.
  • Conduct periodic inspections using tools such as thermographic analysis or vibration checks.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

Safety & Compliance

  • Comply with electrical safety standards, company policies and industry regulations.
  • Participate in risk assessments and apply safety measures for electrical installations.
  • Follow safe work practices and contribute to a safety-focused culture.

Team Support & Coordination

  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, technicians, mechanical, instrumentation, and production teams to support plant operations.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors when required.

Core Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Sound understanding of health and safety standards

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in industrial electrical maintenance (experience in the sugar industry is an added advantage).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, control circuits, and automation.
  • Experience with both HV and LV systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Membership with the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
