Role Overview
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the production line. This role ensures that all production activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The Production Supervisor will lead and manage a team of operators and technicians, monitor production targets, and maintain a smooth workflow.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Production Oversight:
- Oversee the daily operations of the production line, including processing, filling, and packaging.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure that output targets are met on time.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor production issues to minimize downtime.
Ensure the efficient use of raw materials, labour, and equipment.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Supervise and mentor a team of operators and technicians.
- Assign daily tasks, provide training, and manage shifts.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
Quality and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure all production processes adhere to the company’s quality control and food safety standards.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure product quality is maintained throughout the production cycle.
- Enforce strict adherence to health and safety protocols and procedures.
- Report all safety incidents and hazards to the Senior Health and Safety Officer.
Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare daily production reports on output, efficiency, and any issues encountered.
- Communicate effectively with the Factory Manager and other departments to ensure a coordinated workflow.
- Report on equipment performance and maintenance needs to the relevant technical staff.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels
- Diploma in Production Management, Food Technology, Food Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Membership with a recognized professional regulatory body
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in production operations.

- Strong leadership and strategic management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of business operations, governance, and industry processes.
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to translate information into actionable strategies and initiatives.
- Capacity to adapt to legislative and policy changes affecting the industry.
