It is involved in the primary production, processing, distribution, and retailing of beef, chicken, pork, eggs, dairy, fish, flour, leather, shoes, stock feed, and day-old chicks throughout Zambia and the surrounding region.

The Quality Controller is responsible for ensuring that all leather shoe production consistently meets established quality standards. This role involves careful inspection and monitoring throughout every stage of the manufacturing process, from raw materials to finished goods, to identify, address, and prevent defects. The Quality Controller plays a critical role in upholding product excellence, ensuring operational efficiency, and guaranteeing that only high-quality, defect-free products reach the end-user.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting stitched uppers, leather, and components to ensure they meet quality standards before moving to the next stage.
  • Identifying, separating, and reporting defective materials or products to prevent them from proceeding in production.
  • Verifying sizing, back height, bonding (cementing), and overall workmanship match specifications.
  • Maintaining accurate inspection records and stamping or approving compliant materials and products.
  • Monitoring production efficiency through Standard Pairs per Minute (SPM) and supporting production flow by loading items correctly.
  • Enforcing proper use of PPE and adherence to health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Grading leather based on texture, thickness, and appearance to ensure only quality material is used.
  • Preventing defective shoes from reaching customers by performing final quality checks before packing.
  • Reporting any unfit materials or recurring issues to superiors and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
  • Inspecting incoming material from suppliers to ensure conformance to requirements
  • Performing any other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • 1-year experience in the shoe industry will be an added advantage.
  • Good communication skills
