Start Date:
To be Communicated upon selection
Responsibilities or duties
- Provide first aid and basic medical care to learners and staff.
- Assess, manage, and document illnesses and injuries occurring at school.
- Administer prescribed medication in accordance with medical guidelines and parental consent.
- Maintain accurate medical records and confidential health information.
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate referrals to healthcare facilities.
- Promote hygiene, nutrition, and general health education within the school.
- Ensure the school sick bay is clean, safe, and well-equipped.
- Advise school management on health and safety policies.
- Uphold safeguarding, child protection, and infection prevention standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding learners’ health concerns.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing (General Nursing, Registered Nurse, or equivalent).
- Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of child health, infection control, and emergency response.
Experience needed
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in nursing (school or paediatric experience is an added advantage).

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate, calm, and professional demeanour.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate records.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to safeguarding, ethics, and professional standards.
