JOB DETAILS:
The Science Teacher will be responsible for delivering high quality science education at secondary school and modelling the teaching of science at primary school ensuring conformity in the expected standards. This role requires the teacher to effectively plan, teach, assess and give feedback in accordance with the 2023 Zambian Education Curriculum Framework.
Furthermore, the teacher will contribute to the development of science-related co-curricular activities, fostering a spirit of exploration and innovation among learners.
Through collaboration with colleagues across both primary and secondary levels, the teacher will help maintain curriculum continuity and uphold high standards of teaching and learning in science throughout the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Effective preparation of schemes of work and lesson plans in order to facilitate delivery of teaching programmes.
- Mobilization and timely provision of teaching/learning material in order to enhance imparting of knowledge.
- Effectively carry out the teaching of science lessons.
- Undertake timely preparation of teaching records in order assess coverage of the syllabus.
- Undertake effective invigilation and marking of assessments in order to monitor and evaluate performance of pupils.
- Effectively supervise the pupils in classroom in order to enhance learning environment.
Experience and Qualifications
– Grade 12 certificate with 5 O’ levels Credit or better
– Degree in Science – (Subject combination of Physics and Chemistry)
– Registered with Teaching Council of Zambia – TCZ
– Familiar with the 2023 Zambia Education Curriculum Framework.
– Must be computer literate
– A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a teacher of science.
