Job Description
Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit highly committed and passionate employees for the position of Senior Human Resources Officer – Compliance/Records to join the versatile Human Resources team.

Reporting to the Human Resources Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing support in all human resources functions.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
1. Compliance Management
- Process and coordinate applications for work permits and visas for expatriate employees.
- Track expiry dates of work permits, visas, and related documentation to ensure timely renewal and avoid legal issues.
- Organize and schedule employee medical examinations in collaboration with the Occupational Health and Safety Institute (OHSI).
- Maintain a database to track the expiry of medical certificates and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with labor, immigration, and health regulations.
2. Records Management
- Maintain and manage physical employee records, ensuring all files are complete, secure, and easily retrievable.
- Ensure employee records (including personal data, contracts, permits, medical certificates, etc.) are accurate, regularly updated, and stored according to company and legal requirements.
- Audit employee files periodically to verify the presence and validity of required documents.
3. Reporting and Administration
- Prepare regular compliance and records status reports for HR leadership.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing relevant records and documentation.
- Provide administrative support in onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring all compliance and recordkeeping requirements are met.
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements.
- Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Social Science or Equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an HR & Administrative Role
- Prior experience dealing with expatriates and immigration matters is desirable.
- Must have good understanding and able to interpret the Zambian Labour Laws
- Must be a certified member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
- Strong background in Administration, general business acumen and the capacity to act as an internal consultant.
