ROLE PURPOSE
The Senior Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all production operations related to soya chunk manufacturing to ensure maximum efficiency, quality, and safety. The role provides leadership to shift supervisors, ensures adherence to production schedules and standards, and supports the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production operations across extrusion, expelling, drying, cooling, and packaging sections.
2. Monitor production performance and ensure that output, yield, and quality targets are met.
3. Ensure consistent implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all production stages.
4. Review and validate shift reports, material usage, and output summaries.
5. Optimize resource allocation and reduce downtime by efficient shift planning.
- B. Leadership and Supervision
6. Supervise and mentor supervisors on duty, machine operators, and support staff.
7. Conduct daily briefings, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
8. Evaluate operator skills and recommend training or rotation for skill improvement.
9. Promote teamwork, discipline, and a culture of accountability.
10. Ensure all processes comply with Hillcliff quality standards, ISO 9001, HACCP, and GMP.
11. Coordinate with the Quality Assurance department to monitor product consistency and quality parameters (texture, moisture, protein content).
12. Investigate product non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
13. Verify that production meets all customer and export quality requirements.
- D. Equipment and Maintenance Coordination
14. Supervise the operational status of extruders, expellers, conveyors, dryers, and packing machines.
15. Liaise with the maintenance department to plan and execute preventive maintenance.
16. Monitor and report equipment performance trends to management.
17. Ensure that operators adhere to equipment handling procedures and safety protocols.
- E. Data Management and Reporting
18. Review daily production records, including input-output ratios, wastage, and machine downtime.
19. Compile and submit comprehensive weekly and monthly production reports to management.
20. Track and analyze KPIs for efficiency, waste, and energy consumption.
21. Ensure accurate data entry in production management systems.
- F. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
22. Enforce compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
23. Ensure employees use the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
24. Conduct safety inspections and coordinate with the Safety Officer to address risks.
25. Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of the production area in accordance with food safety standards.
- G. Continuous Improvement
26. Identify and implement process optimization opportunities.
27. Support the introduction of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S principles.
28. Participate in cost-reduction and waste-minimization programs.
29. Drive innovation and efficiency improvements through teamwork and feedback.

- Production efficiency (85%)
- Product quality compliance rate (95%)
- Equipment uptime vs. downtime ratio
- Waste and rework percentage (4%)
- Shift performance and labor productivity
- Safety compliance rate and incident reports(95%)
- Timeliness and accuracy of reports(95%)
4. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
- In-depth technical knowledge of soya chunk production processes and machinery.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong data reporting and decision-making capabilities.
5. EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Production Management, Chemical, Process Engineering, Mechanical, or Industrial Management, electrical, Chemistry
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in food or feed manufacturing, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Experience in soya chunk, extrusion, or plant-based protein production is an advantage.
- Certification in Occupational Safety, Quality Management, or Lean Manufacturing is desirable
