An international NGO active in humanitarian aid and development cooperation is looking for a

Technical Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all technical aspects of project implementation in line with the project’s objectives, especially regarding forest planning, data collection, and monitoring.
  •  Ensure coherence and integration between activities implemented by technical experts, consultants, academic institutions, and public bodies.
  •  Serve as the primary technical liaison between the project team and partner universities, supporting applied research and knowledge transfer.
  • Work closely with MoGEE’s Forestry and Planning Departments to assess capacity needs and facilitate targeted technical support and training.
  • Support the development and dissemination of forest typology, productivity mapping, and other tools for planning and decision-making.
  • Facilitate collaboration between public institutions, academia, private sector actors, and communities to ensure inclusive and evidence-based forest policy development.
  •  Represent the project in technical working groups, workshops, and national fora related to forest planning and monitoring.
  • Ensure timely documentation and reporting of technical progress, lessons learned, and best practices.
  •  Contribute to technical deliverables, such as training manuals, reports, and policy briefs, in coordination with implementing partners.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Sciences, Natural Resource Management, or Landscape Management is required (Forestry Degree prioritised); an advanced degree is an added advantage.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in managing forestry projects in Zambia or neighbouring countries.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders at both national and provincial levels using a participatory approach.
  • Excellent English language skills, and Fluent in one of the main Zambian languages (Nyanja/Chichewa, Bemba, Tonga, Lozi).
  • Experience working in a non-profit or international organisation is considered an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, flexibility, time management, and ability to work under stress and in difficult conditions.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  •  Willingness to work in accordance with the Caritas Code of Ethics.
  • Integrity and willingness to work and produce results in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrates strong time management, reliability, commitment, and teamwork; hardworking and capable of performing well under pressure and in challenging environments
