Radisson Blu Hotel and Kigali Convention Centre officially opened on 7th July 2016.

The Hotel incorporates all the facilities and functional technology with a clear reference to the culture and traditions of Africa. It also houses Kigali biggest Convention Centre designed specifically for the region’s vibrant business community.
The Superb property is feature 292 exquisite rooms & suites, extensive restaurants and bars, wellness centres and pools. The Kigali Convention Centre, the impressive Complex facility with state of the art venues, is adjoined to the hotel and will cater for all types of events with a capacity totalling over 5000 attendees.
Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre, Kigali is looking for both External & Internal dynamic professional candidate, with Yes I Can attitude to fill the position of Training Manager which requires well-groomed, experienced, self-motivated and who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of training and development of Staff in Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre, Kigali.

POSITION TITLE: Training Manager
REPORTS TO|: Human Resources Manager
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources Department
NUMBER OF POSITION: 1
Primary Objectives of the Position
The Training Manager analyses the structure and the day-by-day business of the hotel, depending on special needs of the hotel. After that, he/she develops training plans, according to different discrepancies and reviews his/her training programs all team members have to follow.
The Training Manager has to be very adaptable and needs a good comprehension of individual operation. Furthermore he/she has to be a team-leader and a good motivator.
Duties and responsibilities

  • Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on-the-job training for new hires
  • Develop a training plan and support on the implementation of trainings in line with available budget
  • Find local training partners
  • On the job training with a team of champions
  • Weekly and Monthly Report on all Trainings and especially Yes I Can
  • Carlson Learning Network Management (CLN) and registration of targeted candidates to Business School
  • Logistics Management Training
  • Management and monitoring of the training budget
  • Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes for staff members.
  • Confer with management and conduct surveys to identify training needs based on projected production processes, changes, and other factors.
  • Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
  • Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
  • Report of all outside trainings offered to Radisson Blu & Kigali Convention Centre
  • Support the Department in Human Resources activities as recommended by the Human Resources Manager
    Laws, Regulations and Policies
  • Follows all applicable laws and corporate standards and guidelines
    Health and Safety
  • Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported and reduced immediately
  • Fully understands the hotel’s fire, emergency, and bomb procedures
  • Ensures that emergency procedures are practiced and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees
  • Ensures that all employees within own department work in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others
  • Stimulates and encourages a general awareness of health and safety in tasks and activities managed within the department
  • Ensures the safety of the people and property within the premises by applying hotel regulations, and adhering to existing laws and regulations
  • Anticipates possible and probable hazards and conditions and either corrects them or take action to prevent them from happening
  • Ensures that the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct of hotel employees is maintained by all employees in the department
  • Ensure Food and Safety Training are conducted for all food handlers and the effectiveness of the trainings is evaluated.
    EDUCATION
    The Interested candidates should at least have a bachelor’s degree in the following fields:
  • Business administration, Human Resource Management, Public Relations, Management or any other related field.
    EXPERIENCE
  • Proven experience of three (3) years in the development, assessment and implementation of processes and procedures in a related role of Training Manager (in Hotel would be advantageous)
    SKILLS
  • Well- honed coaching, mentoring and leadership skills
  • Confidentiality and privacy is mandatory
  • High level initiative
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills in English
  • Excellent computer in Microsoft: Word, Excel, Power point.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, changing environment
  • Good organizational and prioritizing ability
