Description
JOB PURPOSE
To lead and be responsible for the Transaction Products portfolio and for transaction product management and new transaction product development for all customer segments of Zanaco with a view of improving customer experience within the Bank while maintaining established controls and processes. To drive the department’s transaction product development and management agenda under the supervision of the Product Portfolio Management Head.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Defining and driving the strategy and road map for the Transaction Banking Products.
- Managing the entire transaction product portfolio life cycle from new product development to review and monitoring.
- Identifying market requirements for current and future products in liaison with stakeholder departments.
- Develop and manage a transaction products go-to-market plan, working with all stakeholder departments to execute.
- Maximizing business value from transaction products, optimizing transaction products to achieve the business goals while maximizing return on investment.
- Work with sales, marketing, channels and innovation teams to identify and understand needs and opportunities.
- Analyze customer and end-user engagement metrics and make data-driven decisions about future transaction product improvements.
- To understand customers current and anticipate their future transaction needs through regular interaction with relevant stakeholders.
- Recommend new transaction products to develop and existing transaction products to decommission based on customer needs analysis and transaction product performance reviews
- Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to ensure the successful adoption of new transaction product features and functionality
- Under the supervision of the Product Portfolio Management Head, translate business needs into requirements, drive consensus, including developing transaction product success metrics.
- Identifying and conducting interactions with external transaction products stakeholders and key opinion formers.
- Input in discussions and decisions around product development options (i.e. buy vs build vs outsource/partner)
- Attending key product events and keeping abreast of all relevant competitor activities as well as transaction product reports and findings.
- Prepare periodic product performance reports and presentations to the various business units
- To manage all aspects of the department’s policies, objectives and initiatives that relate to transaction products.
- To work in close collaboration with stakeholder departments to optimize transaction products delivery through the Bank’s channels and give them the necessary promotions.
- Any other duties that will be assigned by the Head Product Management in line with the Bank’s overall objectives
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Education: University Degree in relevant subject
- Minimum Experience: At least eight (8) years in banking with transaction banking, product development and or sales experience
- Product Management experience
- Knowledge of Banking practices and operations, the external environment and regulatory environment.
- Knowledge of the Transaction Banking regulations regarding payments, trade and cash management
- Knowledge of the local market, customers and competitors
- Proven ability to work with a larger cross-functional team
- Experience in financial services and ability to learn fast
- Strong technical skills with knowledge of the bank’s core banking system and configurations
- Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong sense of accountability

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Project Quality Assurance: Develop and implement robust quality assurance processes for digital banking projects, ensuring all deliverables meet established quality benchmarks. Service Quality Assurance: Develop and implement robust quality assurance processes for digital banking services, ensuring all digital channels meet established quality benchmarks. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Management: Design, lead, and execute comprehensive UAT plans for digital banking projects, ensuring all functionalities meet business requirements and user expectations in line with comprehensive risk management associated with testing. Validations: Manage validation of UATs and enhancements in line with the set business objectives, regulatory compliance and IT security principles and frameworks. Revenue Assurance: Analyze and validate the revenue/value impact of new digital banking initiatives, safeguarding alignment with revenue goals, business objectives and identifying potential gaps. Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with digital banking projects, implementing effective controls and mitigation strategies. Audit Management: Manage and track digital banking related risk and audit items, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to compliance standards. Reporting & Communication: Effectively communicate UAT results, risk assessments, and audit findings to stakeholders, providing clear recommendations for action. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of quality assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk & Compliance Client Solutions Products and Channels Project Management Office Information Technology Digital Sales Marketing Retail & Commercial Strategy & Innovation
University degree In Computer Science/IT/Business IT or relevant discipline. Risk and Project certifications will be added advantage. Minimum five (5) years relevance experience in a banking or Fintech environment. Experience in payment systems development, digital banking, mobile money and Fintech product development processes will be an added advantage.
