- Ensure all invoices are timeously raised, observing all deadlines
- Ensure monthly returns are filed on time and shared with the Transport Manager
- Identify areas where management can cut cost to improve profitability
- Ensure timeous trip reconciliations with third party transporters,
- Ensure raising payment instructions with Finance for third part transporters
- Participate in talent identification as required
- Ensure the due process of recruitment is adhered to, to ensure recruitment and retention of quality personnel
- Conduct team meetings to drive team dynamics
- Conduct driver performance appraisals using the driver league system
- Conduct route risk assessments and ensure RRA records are kept up to date
- Ensure all drivers receive fire fighting training
- Conduct Tool box talks
- Ensure drivers reports on unsafe condition are gathered and acted upon
- Be custodian of innovative initiatives to drive profitability
- Ensure driver pre-employment and in-service medicals are done and records are maintained
- Conduct driver training and coaching
- Ensure drivers always appropriately utilise PPE on duty
- Drive effective OBC monitoring of trucks
- Ensure daily review of violation reports and take appropriate remedial action
- Ensure vehicle utilisation through liaising with the workshop team
- Implement and drive Journey Management Planning between all loading and offloading points
- Closely monitor driving hours to ensure fatigue management for all driving on company duty
- Demonstrate equitable and consistent driver consequence management
- Monitor On-time in-full deliveries to all customer sites
- Ensure driver report delivery constraints and unsafe offloading conditions
- Demonstrate actions against all customer complaints and provide feedback
- Document all key processes and ensure drivers are adequately trained on all SOP’s
- Develop a year-on-year KPI dashboard for the operation and against all clients
- Ensure all relevant reports are generated as prescribed
- Be the first contact person for all audits and audit queries
- Review and address all delivery challenges including, but not limited to DOT, Intransit losses etc.
- Document and report all non-executable orders
REQUIRED
Academic Qualifications and Experience
1. Holder of a full Grade 12 Certificate
2. As a minimum, must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised Zambian tertiary learning institution
3. Member of the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport
4. Competence in the Fleet Management Systems
5. Competence in 7- Pillar Global Haulier Assessment
6. Minimum of 3 years in the field of logistics and transport
7. Computer Literate
