Job Purpose

The Business Development Executive – Data Centre is responsible for generating new business leads and converting them into sales for NetOne Zambia’s Data Centre and ICT solutions. The role focuses on driving revenue growth through the promotion and sale of colocation, cloud, cybersecurity, networking, and enterprise technology solutions while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, prospect, and aggressively pitch NetOne Zambia’s Data Centre products and services to new and existing customers.
  • Generate and convert leads into sales for solutions including but not limited to:
    • Colocation
    • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
    • Software as a Service (SaaS)
    • Cyber Security and Network Protection Solutions
    • OEM and technology solutions (Dell, HP, Cisco, Microsoft, Sage ERP, VMware, Symantec, Avaya, Veeam, NetApp, Oracle, Eaton, APC, etc.).
  • Engage closely with customers to understand their business needs and recommend appropriate, value-driven solutions.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets in line with defined KPIs.
  • Act as the primary business contact for customers, coordinating with internal technical teams and third-party partners to deliver solutions within agreed timelines.
  • Prepare high-quality proposals, bids, tenders, and RFP responses ensuring full compliance with client requirements.
  • Lead and manage customer presentations and pitches while maximizing company revenue and profitability.
  • Collaborate with third-party connectivity and technology partners to obtain competitive pricing for internal and customer solutions.
  • Serve as the liaison between customers and technical teams to ensure timely solution delivery and early billing commencement.
  • Identify new business opportunities, products, and services to drive revenue and profitability growth.
  • Maintain regular engagement with customers to review service performance and identify upcoming projects.
  • Provide accurate, timely sales and activity reports in prescribed formats to management.
  • Promote and cross-sell NetOne Group offerings where applicable, reporting opportunities to relevant divisional leads.
  • Take on additional assignments or secondments as required, particularly those focused on revenue optimization.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in a business-related field (preferred).
  • IT qualifications and relevant certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in IT or ICT-related sales is essential.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, including databases and operating systems, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong customer relationship management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
