VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: CIVIL ENGINEER
Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit highly motivated and committed employees for the position of Civil Engineer to join the versatile Maintenance Team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Coordinator – Projects, you will support the planning, design, execution, and oversight of civil and infrastructure projects essential to the safe and reliable operation of our mining facilities.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Plan, design, and supervise civil engineering projects supporting maintenance and operational requirements.
- Assess site conditions, identify risks, and recommend engineering solutions.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work for civil projects.
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure effective project execution.
- Conduct inspections to verify quality, compliance, and adherence to engineering standards.
- Support maintenance teams in resolving civil-related infrastructure challenges.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules while ensuring safety compliance.
- Prepare engineering reports, project updates, and documentation for handover.
- Identify opportunities for improvement aligned with asset integrity and engineering best practices.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Full Grade Twelve School Certificate
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Significant 3 years’ experience in civil engineering, preferably in mining or similar industry.
- Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other relevant engineering design software
- Medium level of competency in the use of CMMS systems (e.g., SAP), MS office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Project, Power Point)
- Experience in managing contractors and overseeing field construction activities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Holder of a valid Zambian driver’s license; will be an added advantage.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
