VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: DRAFTSMAN
Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit highly motivated and committed Zambian for the position of Draftsman to join the versatile Maintenance Team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Coordinator - Projects, you will be responsible for supporting the drawing office, producing accurate technical drawings, updating site plans, and maintaining documentation to reflect current site conditions, ensuring safe and efficient maintenance across the site.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare accurate technical drawings, schematics, and layouts for maintenance and infrastructure projects.
- Update and maintain site drawings, including mechanical, structural, electrical, and civil layouts.
- Liaise with engineers, supervisors, and trades to gather field information and verify design requirements.
- Conduct site measurements, inspections, and data collection to validate drawing accuracy.
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, mine site specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain document control processes for technical drawings and revisions.
- Support planning and execution of maintenance projects by providing clear and accurate technical documentation.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting quality and documentation management.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Full Grade Twelve School Certificate
- Minimum Diploma in Drafting, Engineering Design, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mining, heavy industrial, construction or similar
- Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
- Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Strong understanding of technical drawing standards and engineering principles.
- Ability to interpret engineering sketches, maintenance drawings, and site plans.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with engineering and maintenance teams.
- Proficient with SAP and Microsoft office suite application
- Holder of a valid a Zambian driver’s license, will be an added advantage
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
