Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor engines, generators, boilers, compressors, and pumps.
Perform routine inspections of mechanical and electrical systems.
Monitor parameters (temperature, pressure, vibration, fuel consumption).
Identify faults and respond to alarms or abnormal conditions.
Carry out basic maintenance and assist with major repairs.
Maintain logs, reports, and operating records.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
Coordinate with maintenance, electrical, and control room teams.
Respond to emergencies (fires, leaks, power failures, shutdowns).
Technical Skills
Engine systems (diesel, gas, turbine engines).
Mechanical systems (pumps, valves, compressors, gearboxes).
Electrical basics (generators, motors, switchgear).
Instrumentation and controls.
Lubrication and fuel systems.
Cooling and ventilation systems.
Preventive maintenance techniques.
Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
Reading P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals.
Use of measuring tools (pressure gauges, multimeters, vibration tools).
Competences
Strong safety awareness.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure.
Effective team communication.
Readiness for shift work.
Emergency response capability.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualification as an Electrical / Mechanical Technician, or in any Science or Engineering discipline (including Chemical Engineering).
3–5+ years’ experience in maltings, breweries, food processing, grain handling, or heavy industrial plants.
Experience working shift work, standby, or call-outs.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.

Physically fit and comfortable in industrial environments.
