Project Background

The Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) project with Choma District Women’s Development Associations is running from February 2021 to 31st July 2026. The overall objective of the project is to advance women’s economic empowerment to ensure the capacity of women to participate in, contribute to and benefit from agricultural value chains and processes in ways that affirm the value of their contributions, respect their dignity, promote equality in Eastern, Western, Southern and Central Provinces.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Field Monitoring & Data Collection

  • Conduct regular monitoring and follow-up visits to project implementation sites
  • Collect routine project data using approved monitoring and evaluation tools
  • Verify activity implementation and beneficiary participation at community level
  • Conduct first-level data validation and basic analysis

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning

  • Update project Logframe indicators and monitoring tools regularly
  • Compile monthly monitoring summaries and contribute to quarterly reports
  • Document project success stories, challenges, and lessons learnt
  • Participate in reflection meetings and learning sessions

Community Mobilization & Support

  • Mobilize and support community groups, cooperatives, and lead farmers
  • Facilitate community meetings, trainings, and sensitization sessions
  • Strengthen relationships with beneficiaries and community leaders
  • Carry out training and workshops

Coordination & Reporting

  • Work closely with the Project Coordinator to align field activities with project plans
  • Submit timely monthly M&E update reports
  • Participate actively in programme planning, review, and coordination meetings

Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate field records and proper documentation
  • Ensure adherence to project guidelines and reporting standards
  • Uphold organizational values and ethical standards
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma in Development Studies, Agriculture, Social Work, or related field
  • Certificate in Monitoring & Evaluation is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
  • Conversant in in English and Tonga (project works are carried out in in rural areas and this will facilitate easy comunication with locals )
  • Understanding of MEAL tools
  • Good communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • Able to ride a motorbike and possess a valid driver’s licence
  • Experience working with rural community-based organizations
  • Self-driven and hardworking

  • Must be a Choma Resident
  • Contract runs till July 2026
