Head of Forestry
Talent Acquisition Specialists
Responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of tree planting projects and the maintenance of tree nursery. 10-15 years of relevant experience in Forestry Land Management, Nursery Development, Tree plantation. Candidates who have worked on projects of Green Carbon climate projects would be preferred.

Reporting Structure
Reporting To: Excom Lead
Interacts With: Ranch Managers, Finance and Procurement Team, Head of Villages and external Contractors

Job Description
• Assist in conceiving Green Carbon climate projects and in defining various forest-based projects on groups ranches.
• Develop and implement tree planting plans for forests, parks, and other land management projects.
• Manage the production, maintenance, and quality control of tree seedlings in the tree nursery
• Oversee the planting, care, and monitoring of trees on tree planting projects
• Work with land owners and stakeholders, including community members, to identify and assess potential tree planting sites
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure the success of tree planting projects
• Conduct research and stay up-to-date on best practices in tree nursery management and forestation
• Ensure that all tree planting and nursery activities are carried out in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner.
• Engage with the community to educate and involve them in tree planting and forest management efforts.

Candidate Specification
• Experience: 10 years plus
Education Level: Degree
• Qualifications: Diploma in Forestry / Bachelor of Technology in Forestry. Desired – Masters Degree in Business Administration
• Software: MS Office
• Equipment: Job related
• Knowledge Of: Forestry Land Management, Nursery Development, Tree Plantation. Green Carbon climate projects
• Skills To: Good communication skills, interpersonal skills and people management skills
• Ability To: Solve problems, mange conflict and deliver results
