POSITION OVERVIEW:
The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and support for hardware, software, networks, and IT services for the organization. The role ensures smooth IT operations, resolves user issues efficiently, and contributes to improving the overall IT infrastructure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Support
- Provide support for end users via phone, email, remote tools, and in-person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Tier1 and Tier2 issues related to laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
System Deployment
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (e.g., Windows) and business applications (e.g., Microsoft 365).
- Support Microsoft 365, email configurations, and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Zoom).
- Perform system updates, patching, and routine maintenance tasks.
Network and Infrastructure Maintenance
- Assist with network troubleshooting (LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, Wi-Fi, VPN).
- Configure and manage routers, switches and firewalls.
- Support user account management in Active Directory / Azure AD.
- Monitor IT systems, escalate issues when required, and ensure minimal downtime.
IT Operations
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventory.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities as per schedule on all end-user systems.
- Onboard and offboard users, including system provisioning, access setup and the secure decommissioning of hardware for departing staff.
- Ensure all requests are logged, prioritised, and resolved within established SLAs.
- Track, update, and close support tickets in the ITSM system.
Security & Compliance
- Ensure all endpoints have updated antivirus and security patches.
- assist in identifying and responding to potential cybersecurity threats.
- Follow the SOPs and maintain documentation.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, cybersecurity guidelines, and company standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology.
- 10 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, M365 (e.g., MS Outlook, MS Office, and MS Teams), and common business applications (e.g., AutoCAD, Adobe, PDF, Zoom).
- Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, and basic networking.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Valid Practicing certificate from professional body ICTAZ/EIZ
Preferred Skills
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified.
- Experience supporting Azure cloud environments.
