The intern will be trained to support the design, development, and enhancement of digital tools and platforms that facilitate data collection, visualization, and reporting for health programs.
Key activities
- Assists in building and improving web and/or mobile applications used in data collection and reporting.
- Writes and tests clean, efficient code under the supervision of senior developers.
- Helps maintain and debug existing tools or platforms.
- Documents code and development processes clearly.
- Works with program and data teams to align system functionality with user needs.
- Participates in data visualization development (e.g., dashboards).
- Contributes to automation scripts or API integrations as required.
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 certificate
- Degree Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PHP, or others).
- Familiarity with databases and web development frameworks.
- Interest in public health and data systems is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
