Background:

The Lead expert will oversee the Market Connect program, providing strategic leadership to the team, supporting agribusiness clients, and building key partnerships to drive business growth. The expert will manage client relationships, ensuring performance targets are met, and coordinating with the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) and private sector stakeholders to strengthen the capacity of statutory bodies and agencies in developing innovative marketing and matchmaking strategies that link export-focused producer organizations (POs) with buyers, traders, and international market actors.

Responsibilities:

  • - Provide strategic leadership to the Market Connect program
  • - Support agribusiness clients and build key partnerships
  • - Manage client relationships and ensure performance targets are met
  • - Coordinate with PIU and private sector stakeholders to develop marketing strategies

Qualifications:

  • - Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture Economics, Economics, Business Administration or any relevant field
  • - Masters’ degree or higher in Business Administration/Management/Agribusiness/ Entrepreneurship and Innovation or other related fields
  • - Minimum of ten years of middle to senior management experience
  • - Working knowledge of financial management systems and human resource management

Experience:

  • - Private sector experience with business management and leadership
  • - Experience in sales, operations, and finance management in Agro-processing
  • - Provide strategic leadership to the Market Connect program
  • - Support agribusiness clients and build key partnerships
  • - Manage client relationships and ensure performance targets are met
  • - Coordinate with PIU and private sector stakeholders to develop marketing strategies
  • - Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture Economics, Economics, Business Administration or any relevant field
