Project Description:
Land O’Lakes International Development is implementing a cooperative development project in Rwanda, Cooperative Development Activity — 4 (CD4).
Land O'Lakes Cooperative Development Program (CDP) has pursued the goal of increasing the performance of cooperative enterprises to improve the livelihoods of their members and contribute to building more inclusive and resilient communities. Over the past 6 years, Land O'Lakes has partnered with cooperatives in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda to help improve cooperative performance in response to evolving market conditions. Our recent work in the dairy sector focused on partnering with cooperatives that have leveraged economies of scale through horizontal or vertical integration—working with each partner to improve operational management, organizational governance, and business decision-making.
CD4 is now focused on two countries: Rwanda and Malawi working with both cooperatives as well as with apex organizations, academic institutions, and service providers.
Summary of Role
Land O‘Lakes International Development is hiring an Office Cleaner. Under the supervision of Project Accountant, the Office Cleaner will provide routine in-house tea/coffee preparation and cleaning services needed for Land O’Lakes International Development staff at the main office in Kigali. Her/his responsibilities will include tea/coffee making and serving to staff and office visitors. She/he will facilitate the provision of caterings services for in-house meetings by serving water and tea/coffee as directed by his/her supervisor. In addition, she/he will serve as a cleaner for the office.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of tea and coffee for staff
• Ensure the office tea/coffee room has the required equipment and right standard for tea services;
• Prepare on a daily basis tea/coffee/water for staff;
• Ensure availability and efficient use of tea room consumables such as milk, tea, coffee, and water;
• Serve water and tea/coffee to the participants for in house meetings as organized and communicated to her/him;
• Ensure the timely removal of plates/cups/bottles after meetings to ensure cleanliness of meetings rooms and offices;
• Order groceries and kitchen household supplies to keep kitchen stocked and record expenditures.
Office cleaning
• Clean offices and the veranda areas so that sanitation standards are maintained;
• Wash windows, doors, walls as necessary;
• Wash dishes and clean the kitchen, cooking utensils, and silverware;
• Ensure the office is open timely for cleanness and accessibly
• Empty wastebaskets and transport all trash and waste to disposal areas in compound waiting for transportation to destination by the contracted company;
• Keep kitchen storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy;
• Perform any other tasks assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Rwandan by nationality;
• At least 1-year work experience in similar position;
• Experienced in tea/coffee preparation services in a busy office;
• Preference will be given to candidates that have worked with Land O'Lakes or other international organizations;
• Language Requirements: Applicant must be a native Kinyarwanda speaker.
• Knowledge of either English or French languages is an asset but not required.
