The company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following position in the Supply Chain Department:

OUTBOUND LOGISTICS ANALYST – PERMANENT X1

SUPPLY CHAIN DEPARTMENT (NAKAMBALA)

This position reports to the Head of Logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support embedding of best practices, minimum standards, policies, processes, tools, technology and enablers through the ABF Outbound Logistics and Sales Way and capability development strategy.
  • Extract various warehouse and transport reports and prepare reports or dashboards to track Outbound Logistics performance.
  • Draw and analyse customer service data to support the Customer Service Centre in tracking performance and identifying improvements.
  • Continuously assess, design, refine and implement improved Supply Chain reporting with the aim of driving efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Review and update standard operating procedures for transport and warehousing based on periodic reviews and incident reports in order to reduce losses through the supply chain.
  • Monitor industry trends and practices by reviewing best in class Outbound Logistics practices to benchmark and drive improvements.
  • Analyse, compile and interpret ad hoc reports as and when required to support cost and efficiency improvement projects.
  • Develop various exception reports by reviewing plans against targets to inform timely corrective action and cost saving.
  • Promote and adhere to ABF procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration / Commerce / Finance /Logistics/ Industrial Engineering.
  • Preferably 2-3 years’ experience in Outbound Logistics, with an understanding of the full logistics function.
  • Strong analytical ability, with skills in data management (analysis and drawing of insights to inform business decisions).
  • Sound computer expertise (Advanced Excel and BI tools e.g. Klikview).
  • Good written communication and report writing / presentation skills; understanding of KPI management and reporting.
  • Performance and customer-focused, with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Suitably qualified applicants must provide certificates which have been verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
Frequently engage with Contractor SHERQ representatives and ensure satisfactory risk assessments have been undertaken. Specifically monitor Contractor’s site behaviour and compliance with the cardinal rules which deal specifically with the high-risk activities and use of appropriate PPE for all activities on the site. Engage directly with Twazabuka Project Team Management to effectively ensure corrective measures are swiftly implemented to ensure site SHERQ compliance and minimize all risks for incidents and accidents across the project site/s and activities. Influence and guide Contractors SHERQ Site Manager in matters of assessment, management and continuous improvement related to SHERQ performance. Understand the Zambian OSHA requirements applicable to a large project and ensure and assist Contractor SHERQ Site Manager to enforce compliance. Conduct inspections and internal audits to oversee and ensure the adherence to legislative and Illovo Integrated Risk Management System (IIRMS) requirements. Maintain the Integrated Risk Management System (IIRMS) and external assurance systems through creating and updating procedures, communicating changes to procedures and auditing compliance. Ensure SHERQ is embedded into Operational Readiness program. Assist with the co-ordination of effective testing of emergency response protocols. Promote and adhere to the Project Charter, policies and guidelines including without limitation those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
