Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit highly committed individuals for the position of Physiotherapist to join the versatile Health and Safety team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the senior physiotherapist, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal health of all LMC employees, contractors and their dependents.

Responsibilities or duties

You Duties and Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Providing physiotherapy assessments, diagnosis and treatment to a wide range of clients requiring the services of a physiotherapist as referred by clinicians
  • Assist in managing the workplace rehabilitation program for patients
  • Maintain up-to-date physiotherapy records in line with professional standards
  • Liaise with other health care professions to provide optimum management of patients
  • Carry out pre-employment functional assessment of all prospective employees on a task-specific requirement.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

To be considered for this position, the applicant must have the following:

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Degree in physiotherapy from a reputable training institution
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency in MS Office packages such as excel
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team safely and improve team safety awareness
  • High level understanding of all relevant legislation affecting the employment and safety of persons in the mining industry in Zambia
  • Demonstrated ability and propensity for continuous improvement.

Experience needed

  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience
