The Regional Auditor performs audit engagements to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting activities designed to add value and improve the organization’s operations. This role evaluates and enhances the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes through systematic approaches.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensure GAA Regional Team’s High Performance

  • Perform audit assignments (planning to completion) as assigned by the Regional Audit Manager (RAM) in the Annual Audit Plan.
    • Support larger and complex engagements, potentially managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
    • Assist the Investigations unit with fraud allegations and unethical conduct as delegated by the RAM.
    • Enhance GAA’s ability to conduct assurance and advisory reviews to add value and align with organizational strategy.
    • Foster stakeholder relationships, recommend improvements, and evaluate internal audit performance metrics.
    • Contribute to the Annual Audit Planning process under RAM direction.
    • Prepare pre-audit information and coordinate data collection from auditees before fieldwork.
    • Conduct detailed risk-based audits and document findings within prescribed timelines.
    • Serve as an advisor to Senior Leadership when delegated by the RAM.

2. Ensure High Quality

  • Uphold the highest ethical and professional standards for GAA.
    • Maintain WV GAA quality standards, including:
  • Addressing review notes and compiling draft audit findings/reports for RAM review.
  • Timely audit binder setup and technical execution in audit software.
  • Submitting audit work and draft findings to RAM promptly.
  • Resolving audit review feedback from RAM efficiently.
    • Review follow-up evidence to ensure audit findings are fully resolved per implementation plans.

3. Innovation

  • Drive innovation in GAA Regional Teams’ communication, soft skills, and project execution.
    • Utilize computer-assisted audit tools and techniques.

4. Professional Development

  • Complete Continuing Education (CPE) requirements.

5. Other Duties

  • Provide capacity building to Management Teams on Risk-Based Internal Auditing (RBIA) and enterprise risk management.
    • Advise on NO Integrity and Protection Hotline (IPH) and Enterprise Risk Management committees as assigned.
    • Support GAA initiatives to enhance audit team effectiveness.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum2 yearsof audit experience in a recognized organization (experience in NGOs or audit firms is a plus).
    • Proven expertise in Risk-Based Auditing.
    • Adaptability to new regulations and ambiguous situations.
    • Strong presentation, analytical, interpersonal, time management, and research skills.
    • Knowledge of IIA Standards and Code of Ethics.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degreein Finance, Business Administration, Internal Audit, or related fields.
    • Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CIA) finalized or in progress.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BasicIT Auditand Fraud Investigation skills (CFE certification is a plus).
    • Data mining & analytics (financial/trend analysis).
    • Fluency in French (advantageous).
