VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: RELIABILITY TECHNICIAN
Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit highly motivated and committed Zambians for the position of Reliability Technician to join the versatile Maintenance Team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Coordinator - Projects, you will be responsible for supporting condition monitoring, data collection, failure investigations, and reliability improvement activities across the site.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct condition monitoring activities, including vibration analysis, lubrication checks, thermography, and visual inspections.
- Collect, record, and analyse equipment performance data to identify early signs of failure.
- Assist reliability engineers in executing bad actor analysis and defect elimination initiatives.
- Support the implementation and review of equipment maintenance strategies.
- Monitor performance of trial components and report on reliability outcomes.
- Provide technical support to maintenance teams with failure data and recommended actions.
- Update reliability databases and ensure accurate CMMS data entry.
- Participate in root cause investigations and contribute to corrective action development.
- Ensure all reliability tasks comply with mine site safety procedures and best practices.
- Carry out routine and statutory inspections.
- Carry out structured routine safety and statutory inspections in cooperation with field maintenance personnel
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Full Grade Twelve School Certificate
- Minimum Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or other related Engineering field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mining, heavy industrial maintenance, or condition monitoring preferred.
- Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
- Understanding of reliability concepts such as RCM, FMEA, and defect elimination (advantageous).
- Familiarity with CMMS systems (SAP, Pronto, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret condition monitoring data and equipment performance trends.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and risk management.
- Holder of a valid Zambian driver’s license; will be an added advantage.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English
