Our Client, Mulungushi International Conference Centre (MICCL), a premier conferencing and hospitality facility in Zambia, is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and results-driven professional to join our team as a Stores Officer. If you are passionate about supply chain coordination, inventory management, and operational efficiency, this opportunity is tailor-made for you.
Job Purpose
To manage stores operations including the receipt, storage, and distribution of all inventory at MICCL. The role ensures that all stock management activities are conducted efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with company policies and service level agreements. The Stores Officer is critical to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of inventory while supporting overall business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receives, stores, and issues stock items according to MICCL’s procedures.
- Maintains a well-organized and hygienic stores environment in line with Health and Safety policies.
- Monitors and records all incoming and outgoing stock using FIFO/FEFO inventory methods.
- Conducts regular physical stock counts and reconcile with system records.
- Generates accurate stock movement and wastage reports, highlighting discrepancies and expired stock.
- Monitors storage conditions including temperature and cleanliness to prevent product spoilage.
- Optimizes use of storage space by reorganizing and recommending efficient stock placement.
- Reports daily shortages, damages, and other inventory anomalies to the General Manager.
- Coordinates delivery orders based on picking lists and operational schedules.
- Assists with procurement planning by providing accurate stock-level information and usage trends.
- Identifies and flags slow-moving, expiring, or obsolete stock for necessary action.
- Collaborates with relevant departments to ensure smooth inventory operations and timely replenishments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Diploma in Stores Management, Operations Management, Value Chain Supply, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in a comparable organization or industry.
