Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Supervisor - Operational Planning and Compliance to join the versatile Mine Planning Team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Coordinator – Operational Planning and Compliance, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the aims and goals of the Operational Planning and Compliance section.
  • Ensuring adherence to LMC’s Operational Planning and Compliance management processes.
  • Optimizing the use of available resources for successful attainment of the mine plan.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Providing information to coordinators and supervisors to drive productivity and ensure maximum production.
  • Developing an integrated operational plan and associated schedule defining mining operations' scope of work.
  • Creating a reconciliation plan to review performance and implement improvement actions.
  • Developing short-term, medium-term, and long-term dewatering plans and strategies for wet weather preparations.
  • Participating in business improvement plans as required.
  • Reviewing and optimizing waste dumping management in line with strategic goals.
  • Liaising with contractors and other departments on contractual issues within areas of responsibility.
  • Undertaking technical assignments to resolve operational issues.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly operational reports.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.
  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mining or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong operational background in Mining Equipment Operation (Open Pit environment).
  • Ability to understand mining equipment optimization concepts (productivity focus).
  • Knowledge of planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan) is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and strong communication skills.
  • Membership with the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
