About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Finance Manager to join our leadership team in Zambia. This role is pivotal in driving financial excellence, supporting strategic decision-making, and fostering a high-performance culture. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor to the CEO with a strong track record in financial leadership within large, fast-paced organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership
– Collaborate closely with the CEO and Board to align financial strategies with business objectives.
– Provide financial insights to support strategic planning, growth initiatives, and operational efficiency.
– Identify and implement best-in-class financial practices to optimize performance.

Team Development
– Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
– Promote a culture of inclusivity, transparency, and continuous improvement.
– Align team goals with broader organizational priorities

Financial Management and Reporting

– Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
– Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards (IFRS).
– Manage treasury functions, including cash flow, liquidity, and debt servicing.
– Lead tax planning and compliance, identifying opportunities for optimization.
– Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and audit requirements.

Operational Excellence

 Monitor production costs and implement cost control strategies.
– Drive process improvements and systems optimization across departments.
– Establish and track KPIs to measure financial and operational performance.
– Identify and mitigate financial risks, including compliance and reputational risks.

Supply Chain and Vendor Management

– Oversee procurement processes, ensuring alignment with efficiency and value principles.
– Strengthen supplier relationships and optimize credit terms.
– Monitor and improve supplier account reconciliation processes

Qualifications and Experience

– Chartered Accountant (CA) or ACCA qualification.
– Minimum 12 years of experience, including 5+ years in a senior finance leadership role (FC or CFO).
– Experience in large FMCG organizations (3,000+ employees) is highly desirable.
– Background in public accounting is a strong advantage.
– Proven ability to lead in remote or challenging environments.
– Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
– Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
– Proficiency in IFRS and financial systems.
– Technologically adept with a strong grasp of data analytics and ERP systems.
