Job Responsibilities

i. Evaluate and assess credit applications to determine financial viability and risk exposure.

ii. Conduct detailed credit analysis, including reviewing bank statements, pay-slips, credit reference bureau report and KYC documents.

iii. Monitor the credit portfolio to identify early warning signs of potential defaults (first instalment defaults) and recommend mitigation strategies.

iv. Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

v. Participate in the development and review of credit policies and risk management frameworks.

vi. Provide guidance to sales consultants on completeness of KYC documents and affordability calculations.

vii. Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and risk assessment.

viii. Prepare and present credit reports and recommendations to the supervisor.

ix. Support the recovery team in managing delinquent accounts and minimizing credit losses.

x. Contribute to the continuous improvement of credit risk assessment models and processes.

xi. Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

i. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

ii. A minimum of 4 years of experience in credit analysis, sales, risk management, or a similar role within the financial sector.

iii. Strong understanding of credit risk principles, financial analysis, and regulatory requirements.

iv. Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

v. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

vi. Knowledge of microfinance or non-bank financial institution (NBFI) lending practices is an added advantage.
