Job Summary:
A company in Kalulushi Central is seeking four skilled Interpreters to facilitate communication in our diverse industrial operations. The Interpreters will bridge language gaps between employees, management, and stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time interpretation between English and local languages (e.g., Bemba, Nyanja) during meetings, training sessions, and site activities.
- Translate written documents, such as safety manuals, policies, and reports, as needed.
- Facilitate communication between management and employees to ensure understanding of instructions and expectations.
- Assist in resolving misunderstandings caused by language barriers, fostering a cohesive work environment.
- Interpret during safety briefings, ensuring all employees understand critical protocols.
- Support HR in conducting interviews and onboarding for non-English-speaking employees.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all interpretation and translation tasks.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth communication across the organization.
- Provide cultural insights to management to enhance workplace inclusivity.
- Keep accurate records of translation and interpretation activities for reporting purposes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an interpreter, preferably in an industrial or operational setting.
- Fluency in English and at least one local language (e.g., Bemba, Nyanja, or other Zambian languages).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in all relevant languages.
- Ability to interpret accurately and quickly in high-pressure situations.
- Understanding of industrial terminology and safety protocols is an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups of people.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Kalulushi Central, Copperbelt Province.
- Serious and committed attitude, as emphasized by the employer.
