Job Summary: |
Is responsible for all aspects full-cycle month-end closing and acts as the accounts receivables. Duties may include but not limited to preparing and posting journal entries, cash disbursements, cash receipts, bank reconciliations, preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations and monthly schedules. |
Key Responsibilities: |
- The main responsibilities of this job are as follows:
- Keep track of assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts
- Plan course of action to recover outstanding payments
- Locate and contact debtors to inquire of their payment status
- Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans
- Handle questions or complaints
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Create trust relationships with debtors when possible to avoid future issues
- Update account status and database regularly
- Alert superiors of debtors unwilling or unable to pay when necessary
- Comply with requirements when legal action is unavoidable
- Prepare journal entries, cash disbursement, cash receipts, month-end & year-end closing, account analysis, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and reconcile system uploads into General Ledger.
- Responsible for any tasks necessary to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze financial statements and prepare budget variance analysis using sound judgement and critical thinking.
- Government Reporting
- Participates in institutional budgeting process.
- Update documentation of business processes and procedures.

Principal Outputs of this Role: |
- To contact debtors and claim outstanding debts towards their creditors. You will be responsible for recovering the money owed in as little time as possible.

Qualifications & Experience: |
- Full G12 Certificate
- ZICA or Degree in Accountancy
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working as an Accountant
- Paid up member of the Zambia Institute of Certified Accountants (ZICA).
