Hollard Life Assurance Zambia is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic Finance & Administration team.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head – Finance & Administration, the Accountant will assist in the efficient management of Finance and Administration operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Post all transactions into the accounting system and manage daily receipting and banking.
- Process and prepare payments to suppliers and for claims.
- Monitor bank account balances and ensure sufficient liquidity.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations, journals, and expense variance commentary.
- Manage debtors, maintain the fixed asset register, and process payroll.
- Ensure timely statutory payments (ZRA, NAPSA, PIA, etc.).
- Prepare investment income accounts and reconcile reinsurance payables.
- Coordinate annual audits and actuarial valuations.
- Support procurement, office maintenance, and license renewals.
Required Qualifications
- Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA or Degree in Accounting.
- Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 O’ Levels including English and Mathematics.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting role.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of basic insurance principles is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and report writing skills.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment with attention to detail.
