Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Department: Finance: Accounting
Location: Lusaka
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to support our finance team with daily accounting tasks. The successful candidate will assist with bookkeeping, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the finance department
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, reports, and ledgers
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform bank and account reconciliations regularly
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Maintain and update financial spreadsheets and databases
- Help ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations
- Liaise with vendors, clients, and internal departments as needed
- Provide administrative support to the finance team
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, or similar role
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is desirable
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration with a postgraduate qualification in Business Administration or a similar field MBA is an added advantage. Strong business sales and business development skills, with a proven record in sales of lubricants, aviation fuel, and bitumen. Knowledge across lubricants, aviation fuel, and bitumen sectors, with a strong understanding of industry trends and competitor activity. Experience in managing supply and delivery of products, ensuring timely and efficient logistics. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
