Role requires understanding of Fuel retail business which includes daily sales and stock related site activities; functionalities of dispensers; interfacing hardware and forecourt operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
Assist the Automation Manager in day-to-day operations and execution of automation projects.
Track project progress, manage resources, and ensure timely completion of milestones.
Coordinate between technical teams, operations, and other departments to maintain seamless workflows.
Fuel Retail Automation
Support deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fuel retail systems, including forecourt automation, fuel dispensers, point-of-sale (POS) systems, fleet card solutions, and tank monitoring.
Ensure accurate transaction capture, reconciliation, and ERP integration.
Implement mobile dispensing and other digital fuel solutions, monitoring performance and reliability.
Other Automation Projects
Assist in planning and implementing industrial or enterprise automation projects beyond fuel retail, including process automation, robotics, IoT, and ERP-integrated solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in automated systems.
Ensure projects meet technical specifications, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
Team Leadership & Development
Supervise and guide technicians, engineers, and assistants in daily tasks and projects.
Facilitate training on automation systems and technical best practices.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Reporting & Compliance
Maintain documentation of all automation systems, processes, and performance metrics.
Prepare progress reports and updates for the Automation Manager and senior management.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards and company policies.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in automation projects, including fuel retail and other industrial/enterprise systems.
Hands-on experience with fuel forecourt automation, fleet card systems, POS integration, ERP systems, IoT, or process automation solutions.
Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, and project coordination skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and team management abilities.
