JOB PURPOSE

To assist Chinese engineers in managing company-related construction projects. To assist engineers in training local electricians.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assistant Electrical Engineer shall be responsible for independently managing, while providing technical guidance for individual construction projects as may be required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Strong safety awareness with solid basic electrical theory and electromechanical construction knowledge.
• Familiar with water and electrical installation procedures on construction sites, and capable of applying relevant standards and installation specifications.
• Able to read electrical symbols and understand CAD construction drawings.
• Proficient with switch circuits and knowledgeable in electrical control systems; capable of troubleshooting and repairing.
• Strong discipline, obedience, and service-oriented mindset.
• Proficient understanding of transformer principles, reactive power compensation, and safe switching operations.
• Knowledgeable in wiring standards, pipeline layout planning, and installation practices.
• Familiar with HVAC cooling systems, generator maintenance, water heater supply principles, solar storage systems, and low-voltage systems.
• Must know ZESCO power installation requirements, processes and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 3 years’ work experience in construction management.
• Must be a paid member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
• Must be a resident of Ndola or Copperbelt.
