Role Overview

The Branch Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing the Kitwe branch, driving business growth, ensuring excellent client service, and leading a high-performing team. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, solid knowledge of microfinance/SME lending, and the ability to deliver results in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Kitwe branch.
  • Drive loan portfolio growth with a focus on secured lending including SME and personal loans.
  • Ensure strong credit risk management and portfolio quality.
  • Deliver exceptional client service and uphold Dorset’s brand values.
  • Build, lead, and motivate a high-performing branch team.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with SMEs, clients, and community stakeholders.
  • Provide regular branch performance reports to senior management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Banking, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail or SME banking, microfinance, or lending, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in loan portfolio growth and credit management.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Copperbelt market (particularly Kitwe) is an added advantage.
