North Luangwa Conservation Programme is a partnership entity formed between FZS and DNPW Zambia with the mandate of conserving the North Luangwa Landscape. The partnership has been in place since 1986 and the programme has grown to be one of the leading conservation programmes in the region.
The conservation programme has grown over the years and is now recognised as one of the most effective and equitable conservation management programmes in the region, the first to be recognised by IUCN Green List in Zambia. With extensive, inclusive and innovative approaches to Landscape Integration and Law Enforcement operations, NLCP continues to innovate and set benchmarks for gender mainstreaming, equitable management and stakeholder inclusion under the mission of “Linking Livelihoods and Landscape”.

About the Position

North Luangwa Conservation Programme (NLCP) is looking for an experienced Buildings and Maintenance Supervisor with a strong background in the Built Environment Industry to support the NLCP works and maintenance operations. The role will generally involve the day-to-day operations, construction activities, and maintenance of buildings. S/he will have hands-on experience in the construction industry, leadership skills, analytical and resourceful in building, maintenance, and construction in and around the North Luangwa Landscape.
The successful candidate will assume responsibility for maintaining and improving the integrity of existing structures and ensuring high standards in new builds. The candidate will have the responsibility to supervise the in-house works team, execute quality control measures for contractors and ensure a safe working environment.

Your Tasks
  • Coordinate and supervise construction and general maintenance activities.
  • Manage and supervise the in-house team and subcontractors, ensuring they are working safely and efficiently.
  • Quality control
  • Enforce safety regulations and ensure a safe work environment for all personnel
  • Supervise an efficient team to support their growth and development
  • Occupational Health and Safety and associated risk mitigation
  • Effectively manage the resources and equipment allocated
  • Managing and coordinating maintenance tasks, including scheduling repairs
Your Profile
  • At least 5 years’ practical experience in construction in a supervisory role.
  • Vocational diploma in construction management or a related field.
  • A deep understanding of construction processes, methods and materials.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in the field, in remote areas.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
  • Good oral communication skills in Bemba or Bisa.
  • Excellent capability in MS office
