The Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and supporting Dorset’s branch growth strategy. This role combines sales, market development, and client engagement, ideal for someone with a strong understanding of financial products and a passion for helping clients succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to grow Dorset’s secured lending portfolio.
- Identify and pursue opportunities with individuals, SMEs, and community partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and local business networks.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
- Support branch marketing initiatives and client acquisition campaigns.
- Prepare client proposals and follow up on leads to conversion.
- Ensure all client interactions align with Dorset’s service standards and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to Dorset’s visibility in the Copperbelt through community and business engagement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field.
- At least 3 years’ experience in business development, lending, or financial services (SME lending preferred).
- Strong understanding of secured lending and credit processes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Proven track record of meeting sales or business growth targets.
- Knowledge of the Kitwe and Copperbelt market is a distinct advantage.
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
