Job Description

To direct and manage the Alternate Channels resources, in line with the Banks short and long term plan, policies and values with a view to generating the highest return on capital employed, promoting customer loyalty by providing a superior customer experience and identifying and promoting new business, in order to ensure future business and footprint growth without incurring unmanageable risks

  • Business Strategy for Channel development (Sales, Service, Assets, Liabilities, Non-Interest Revenue, funded income, Profitability.)
  • Manage and minimise Alternate Channel cost to optimize cost-income ratio.
  • Business information (revenue streams/financial reports/dashboards).
  • Manage and support the team to ensure end to end Cash Plus agents’ sales, recruitment, onboarding training, set up plus ongoing maintenance and support right through to agent decommissioning as per process requirements.
  • Identify and execute ways to improve business performance of the Channel (Sales/Acquisition targets to Stores and Cash Plus).
  • Drive the mechanism to attain 100% activations of new to bank customers.
  • Ensure effective customer and competitor research and analysis to help improve customer service via the Channel.
  • Channel Footprint – Cash Plus.
  • Project manages the successful implementation of new acquisitions through collaboration with the various support areas.
  • Servicing and managing product distribution through cross selling to existing and prospective clients
  • All aspects of relationship management,
  • Devise/implement attraction and retention strategies for target markets
  • Deal with any customer related enquiries and complaints escalated by Stores or CashPlus Relationship Bankers in a professional manner as specified in the service standards
  • Internal process improvement opportunities sought and facilitated/implemented.
  • Ensures Store and agency Compliance with Operational Processes and Risk Procedures by implementing a robust compliance program, consult with the business unit to ensure conformance with regulations. Includes alignment, and embedding of compliance training requirements across the Channel-In-Store Banking and CashPlus.
  • Credit Monitoring Management – DDA Portfolio and Personal loans.
  • Career and succession planning for the Channel.
  • Business values modelled and inculcated in the channel.
  • Alternate Channel Head visibility.
  • Means to perform to standard identified and provided for all direct reports.
  • Individual contribution against performance standards clarified and agreed.
  • Abilities required to perform to standard developed through training and coaching of direct reports.
  • Regular feedback on contribution to standard given to all direct reports.
  • Best practice exchange facilitated across the Channel.
  • Business understanding and development through one on ones.
  • Channel direct staff held accountable for contribution to standard.
