The Position

Urban Bliss Hotel is inviting applications for the position of Chef De Partie. Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Chef De Partie will be responsible for managing an assigned section of the kitchen, preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring smooth operation of the culinary team. The ideal candidate is creative, adaptable, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistency and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of menu items to the highest standards using both traditional and modern techniques.
  • Prepare a wide variety of pastry products including cakes, pies, breads, desserts, and specialty baked goods using traditional and modern recipes
  • Professionally decorate and present food items to ensure exceptional visual appeal.
  • Introduce innovative creations to enhance menu offerings.
  • Maintain workstation cleanliness, organize tools and equipment, and manage inventory for your section.
  • Supervise and guide junior chefs, ensuring adherence to recipes, standards, and kitchen procedures.
  • Assist in service during peak periods and collaborate with other kitchen sections as needed.
  • Comply with all health, safety, hygiene, and food handling regulations.
  • Take charge of your section in the absence of senior chefs.
  • Attend daily briefings and contribute to achieving kitchen operational goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support efficient kitchen operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Minimum Certificate in Food Production and/or Culinary Arts
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a professional kitchen i.e.-Star Restaurant or Hotel.
  • Fluent in English and Bemba.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
