Job Purpose:
The Chef will oversee the preparation of high-quality meals, manage kitchen operations, and contribute to creating a delightful culinary experience for guests at Magodi Tented Lodge. This role requires creativity, leadership, and a passion for delivering exceptional cuisine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare menus that align with the lodge’s standards and guest preferences.
  • Cook and present dishes with consistency and attention to detail.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and minimize food wastage.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards.
  • Collaborate with management to develop seasonal or special event menus.
  • Monitor food quality and address any issues promptly.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
  • Formal culinary training or diploma in culinary arts (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a chef in a reputable establishment.
  • Proven expertise in preparing a variety of cuisines, including local and international dishes.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Leadership skills and experience managing a kitchen team.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
