Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit highly committed employees for the position of Civil Engineering Supervisor- LEP (Fixed Term Contract) to join the Project Department. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Projects Coordinator - Civil Engineering - LEP, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing Construction projects to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective delivery

Responsibilities or duties

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Supervise and manage construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Oversee all assigned civil works including earthworks, concrete works, roads, drainage, kerbs, paving, structural elements, and associated infrastructure.

Prepare detailed scope of works and bills of quantities in line the civil engineering and standard methods of measurements for specified civil work packages.

Coordinate and schedule contractors to ensure that workforce and equipment are optimized for construction efficiency.

Monitor project progress and performance against established baseline schedules and budgets, to ensure successful completion of civil engineering projects.

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules to track progress and ensure timely completion of tasks, project deliverables and milestones.

Coordinate with project stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

Oversee the procurement, delivery, and inventory management of construction materials and supplies.

Evaluate and select suppliers and vendors based on quality, execution strategy, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on construction sites to ensure that construction is carried out according to the approved construction drawings and technical specifications.

Implement and enforce quality control procedures to identify and resolve defects or deficiencies promptly on both materials and works.

Maintain accurate daily site reports (progress, manpower, plant, safety).

Maintain updated drawing registers, Inspection and test plans and all quality control documentation.

Review all daily diaries, inspection logs, material delivery records, and equipment logs for contractors.

Support quantity verification for interim payment applications for the contractors.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

Full Grade Twelve School Certificate

Minimum of a Degree in Construction/Civil Engineering or related field

Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia

Experience needed

Minimum of 3 years of construction experience in the mining industry in similar projects, particularly Housing construction.

Proven experience in construction management software

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D software and MS Office Suite, MS Project, Primavera or other project management software.

Must have a valid Driver’s License.
