Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed individual for the position of Clinical Officer to join the versatile Health & Safety team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Medical Officer and working together with other clinicians, you will be responsible for attending to patients (employees and their dependents) from our facility clinics.

Responsibilities or duties

Your Duties and Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Attending to patients in the general outpatient department.
  • Attending to emergencies, including trauma management.
  • Assisting with HIV/AIDS care.
  • Assisting with pre-employment medicals on a task specific requirement.
  • Health promotion and employee wellness activities.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Minimum Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized training institution.
  • Registered with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ).
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Strong report writing and presentation abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on safety awareness.
  • Solid understanding of legislation governing employment and safety in the Zambian mining industry.

Experience needed

  • At least 3 years of clinical practice experience.

Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)

ACLS/ATLS certification and/or additional training in ENT, dermatology, or related specialties is an added advantage.
