About the Role
We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Credit and Portfolio Manager to lead our credit operations and oversee the performance of our lending portfolio. The successful candidate will play a strategic role in maintaining portfolio quality, managing credit risk, and driving growth across multiple lending segments.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and approve credit applications based on sound financial analysis and risk assessment.
- Develop and implement credit policies, procedures, and scoring models that support prudent lending practices.
- Monitor portfolio performance across SME, retail, and corporate segments to identify risks and implement corrective measures.
- Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate portfolio resilience under varying economic conditions.
- Prepare and present regular reports on portfolio quality, delinquency rates, and provisioning.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the credit team to ensure high performance and compliance with internal controls.
- Collaborate with relationship managers, finance, and strategy teams to align credit activities with business growth objectives.
- Engage with external stakeholders including auditors, regulators, and rating agencies.
- Drive innovation by supporting digital transformation initiatives in credit assessment and portfolio analytics.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
- Professional certification in credit analysis, risk management, or portfolio management preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in credit and portfolio management within a financial institution.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, credit scoring systems, and portfolio analytics tools.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management abilities.
